PRINCIPAL'S NOTE

Registration has begun for the 2026/27 school year.  Our Juniors will be registering on the 9th and 10th of February during their American History class.  Freshmen and Sophomores will be registering on the 11th and 12th.  All of the students have received their course selection packets. Please talk to your students about looking through everything LPHS has to offer. This All Things Registration Flyer outlines important dates and details regarding registration, including a link to our 2026-2027 Course Catalog. For more information, I will be holding an LP Parent Partnership Virtual Gathering on February 4th at 5 pm. During this Google Meet, we will outline the registration process and answer any questions parents may have.

To honor our counselors, we're wearing a different color each day this week in acknowledgment. See the calendar list above for the plan. We will have different opportunities throughout the week to celebrate each of our amazing counselors! Your notes of appreciation would be wonderful as well!

 

MINI COLLEGE FAIR ON FEBRUARY 10

Our Mini College Fair will take place next Tuesday, February 10th, from 12:45 to 1:45 in the Commons. This event is offered by ROAR (Regional Office of Admissions of the Rockies) and will include colleges from out of state. This is a regular school day, and colleges will have tables in the commons. Students can attend during 2nd lunch, or students in grades 10th-12th can ask their teacher for a pass. See the list above of colleges attending.

We're excited to welcome our athletes back as they represent the Rangers this spring!

Our next LP Parent Partnership Video Gathering is this Wednesday, February 4th, at 5 PM. This 30-minute Google Meet will aim to discuss and answer your questions regarding our REGISTRATION PROCESSES.

CONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER!

***The LP Rock Climbing Team is headed to Regionals with our largest group of qualifiers since 2018! Congratulations to the following climbers: Brooke Douglas, Reese Douglas, Layne Berger, Colin Campbell, Ziegan Ludwig, Sean Pope, Finn Hulsey, Finn Jones, and Kasen Mast.  You can come cheer on our climbers on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Gripstone Climbing Gym in Colorado Springs from 9-noon. Good luck, and let's get qualified for State!

***Congratulations to Mr. Sam Anderson - At the CMEA conference this week, he was awarded Outstanding Young Music Educator!!

***Our JAZZ BAND did a fantastic job representing LPHS at the CMEA conference last week!

*** LP Theater students attended the Pikes Peak Region Invitational One Act Competition and performed incredibly! LP won titles for best supporting actor- Ben Egbert, and best actor- Jonathan Lilley. LPHS was the only school to win two awards. This year they ranked the shows, and LP Theater won 1st Place! Congratulations, LP students, and Mrs. Lilley!

 

LPHS THEATER PRESENTS:

A Night of One-Act Plays! - Join us for a night of one-act plays on February 12 and 13 at 7 pm. Come see scenes from Romeo and Juliet and our competition comedy, A Company of Wayward Saints. Donations of $5 or 3 canned goods at the door will get you a ticket.  Employees of LPSD get in free.

 

STUDENT TRAVEL: VISIT THE AZORES IN 2027!

*PLEASE NOTE THE NEW DATE- Please attend the EF Tours informational meeting on Wednesday, February 11th, at 6 pm in room 303 to learn more about this exciting travel opportunity to the Azores in 2027!  Registration for this meeting is encouraged, but not mandatory.

EMAIL REMINDER: If you receive an automated attendance notification email, PLEASE EMAIL YOUR ATTENDANCE SECRETARY DIRECTLY. Responses to the automated email may not be received.

Procedures for Checking In: Students returning to the building or arriving during the school day are required to check in at the Attendance Office before proceeding to class.

Checking Out: Students must have permission from a parent, guardian, or emergency contact to leave the building. Parents are asked to email or call in advance to excuse a student for early release. PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST 20 MINUTES FOR DISMISSAL if calling last-minute for an early release. All students must check out of the building through Security when leaving early.

Please be aware that dismissal calls received after 2:30 pm may not allow enough time for the student to be dismissed early. Please plan accordingly.

 

SAT PREP SESSIONS FOR JUNIORS

Donโ€™t miss this free opportunity!
District 38 is hosting a series of SAT prep sessions led by Dr. Michael Brom, Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment. He will lead six sessions from January through March, with each session focusing on a different topicโ€”from test-taking strategies to specific content areas (focus on math). 

This is a great chance to strengthen your skills and boost your SAT score before the April test. Register here: SAT Prep Course Registration
