Dear LPHS Families,
Lewis-Palmer High School leadership is aware of social media conversations referencing a potential student walkout on Friday, March 6, related to current events across our country and a TikTok Challenge. Note this potential walkout is a student-planned activity and is not sponsored or organized by the school or district.
Our top priority every day is to ensure continuity of learning and the safety and well-being of everyone on our campus. Students who do not attend class or arrive late will be marked unexcused or tardy for each impacted class period. Instruction will continue as scheduled, and our focus will remain on supporting learning.
As a reminder, when school is in session, all students are expected to remain in class and follow school behavior expectations. If any students leave our campus without permission, they are no longer under direct school supervision, which can also present safety concerns. Maintaining a safe and productive learning environment is essential, and school leaders will continue to uphold these expectations.
I encourage you to talk with your child about how to express their views respectfully and safely, and about the importance of attendance and behavior expectations at school. For more information about participation in student walkouts, please visit the D38 Answers webpage, a trusted source for answers on important topics. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school a safe place that is focused on learning.
- Principal Jeffrey Zick |

LPHS Student Council has discussed changing the traditional gown currently worn at graduation and returning to the black-with-stole option shown here. Because this change would take effect for Graduation 2027 for current juniors and their parents and involves a fee increase, they would love to hear your opinions!
